Never before published in Kentucky Fried Chicken’s official history or Colonel Harland David Sanders’ biography, it has now been revealed that the Colonel suffered from dissociative identity disorder in his later years after selling the corporation to John Y. Brown, Jr. in 1964.
Most notorious of the Colonel’s many personalities was the blind Delta bluesman Moist Towelette Sanders, who actually managed to win a Chess Records recording contract in the early 70s with his band, The Three Piece Meal. They put out three critically-panned albums – A Bucket Full of Blues, Blue and Extra Crispy, and Lumpy Gravy – and were quickly dropped from the label due to poor sales.
To commemorate this colorful side to the Colonel, KFC has now issued a limited edition of collectible napkin packets bearing the image and name of his once-forgotten alter ego. Get yours before they’re gone!
